WATERCOLOR : NEGATIVE PAINTING CLASS

I am offering this  class for the first time at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold Maryland. The class begins Thursday, October 8 and meets for 6 weeks with one skip. The class time is 1:30-4:30. The class is almost filled. Call 410-777-2325 to register.

The class will be challenging. You should have previous experience  working with  watercolor.  This style of painting is my passion. A professor of mine commented a few years ago that my paintings looked like textiles!   Someone told him I was a rug maker too. It all seems to fit together.

Negative Painting Technique

 I call this "Fiesta Tulips."  In the fall I'll be teaching an intensive 6 week Negative painting class at Anne Arundel Community College. This technique involves using Gesso and instead of painting the negative space, color is removed from it.  It is tricky but so addictive!  Check my web site for dates and times.  This class  is appropriate for painters with basic skills, but not beginners. www.paintpencil.com 

A Painting Puzzle!

This is a negative painting. Only the little area caught within the window  is painted directly. If you look at my rugs you'll see the same type of design. It challenges you to switch from the left to the right brain when going from positive space to negative. If you like to solve puzzles you will love this type of painting.
